RadioMaster and EdgeTX radio guides

ResearchedUpdated

Setup guides for FPV radios running EdgeTX, starting with RadioMaster. They cover the radio side: power-on checks, the internal ExpressLRS module, binding from the radio, a first quad model and simulator use. Researched from RadioMaster's product pages and the EdgeTX and ExpressLRS docs; we haven't bench-tested these radios.

Sources, checked October 13, 2026: RadioMaster Pocket (M2) radiomasterrc.com · Boxer (M2) radiomasterrc.com · TX16S MK3 radiomasterrc.com · EdgeTX supported radios edgetx.org · EdgeTX releases github.com. The TX16S MK3 sources disagree, and EdgeTX had no 3.0 release on that date, so check what your radio runs.

Version notes

  • Our guides follow EdgeTX 2.12.4 (September 2, 2026) github.com. EdgeTX 2.11.8 (October 10, 2026) is the line for STM32 F2 radios; the 2.12 notes say 2.11 is their last series github.com.
  • The internal ELRS module must match your receivers' major version (3.x or 4.x) github.com. RadioMaster doesn't say which ELRS version a new radio ships with radiomasterrc.com, so read the version line in the ExpressLRS Lua script. More in ExpressLRS 4 vs 3.

Safety

Use undamaged cells and follow the polarity markings and the charging instructions in your radio's manual. Buy the FCC or LBT version that matches where you fly, and keep that regulatory domain when you update. Back up models and the SD card before flashing EdgeTX or ELRS. Keep the throttle and switch warnings on, and the props off whenever a quad is powered on the bench.
