Betaflight App guides

Betaflight Configurator is now the Betaflight App. It runs in the browser at app.betaflight.com, with desktop and Android installers on downloads.betaflight.com. Since 2025.12 the App uses the same version number as the firmware, so match the two. Every guide here names the App and firmware version it follows and links the official release notes. They're researched from Betaflight's docs and release notes; we haven't bench-tested them.

1. Betaflight looks different from the video, or you need the download: Betaflight Configurator is now Betaflight App. Official download links, which App version fits your firmware, browser support (Chrome, Edge or Firefox 151+ on 2026.6.x) and where old tabs went.

What changed in App 2026.6

Per the 2026.6 release notes:

• The top header bar is gone. Connection status and actions live in the sidebar and each tab's toolbar.
• The Transponder tab was removed; its settings are in the CLI.
• The Firmware Flasher has two sub-tabs, Board & Build and Flash.
• Virtual and Manual Connect are hidden unless Expert Mode is on.
• New tabs: Preflight, Autotune (experimental), Flight Plan and Blackbox Viewer.
• Only one UART can be set to Serial RX.

Version gotchas

• IIM-42652 gyro boards: after updating to 2026.6, reset and re-tune PIDs. The notes say "do not arm on your old tune" betaflight.com.
• SPI ELRS whoops: 2026.6 builds ELRS V3 by default, which doesn't bind to an ELRS 4.x radio. V4 needs the ELRSV4 build flag betaflight.com. See ExpressLRS 4 vs 3.
• Older firmware: Betaflight's official compatibility list ends at App 2025.12.1, which supports firmware 4.3 and newer. For 4.2.x or older, use Configurator 10.10.0 betaflight.com.

Safety

Take the props off whenever a battery is plugged in with the App open; motor tests spin the motors for real. Before you flash, save a diff all: a wrong target or an interrupted flash can leave the board unresponsive. Read the release notes for the version you flash.
